Biscotti al mascarpone a forma di cuore/Heart-shaped mascarpone cookies

For Valentine’s Day breakfast, I decided to make these fantastic crumbly mascarpone cookies with lemon scent, which are wonderful when dipped in tea or coffee. This doesn’t mean you can’t make them for other occasions or in different shapes, the important thing is the base of the dough, which is simple and butter-free!
Ingredients for about 30 cookies:
-300g(10,58 once) flour
-250g(8,81 once)mascarpone cheese
-150g(5,29 once) sugar
-1 egg
-a pinch of salt
-zest of one lemon
1- Put the flour in a bowl, add a pinch of salt, mascarpone, and lemon zest. Mix everything with a fork until you get a crumbly mixture. Add the eggs and sugar and mix initially with a fork and then with your hands until you have a workable dough with which you can then form a smooth ball. Wrap it in plastic wrap and let it cool in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
2- Take the dough out of the refrigerator and place it on a work surface dusted with flour. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough to the thickness you want your cookies to be. Cut out small hearts using heart-shaped cookie cutters.

3- Place your heart-shaped cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25 minutes at 350°F.
4- When the cookies are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool. In the meantime, melt some dark chocolate in a double boiler (a bowl with the chocolate inside a pot of boiling water).
5- Dip half of each cookie/heart into the pot of melted chocolate and then place it on a wire rack. Once you have done all the cookies, leave them to cool.
6- Serve and breakfast is ready. You can also prepare them the day before…they are still delicious even when cold!

Happy Saint Valentine’s Day!
